Firm flying high with enterprise accolade
ABUSINESS intelligence consultancy has been given a significant award for enterprise and international trade.
Anari Ltd, based at Gawsworth Business Court in North Rode, has been chosen as one of a select few businesses to receive the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the UK’s highest accolade for business success.
Nigel Dowden, managing director of the firm, explained: “Our award is received for International Trade.
“This is in recognition for us achieving outstanding growth in overseas markets, increasing our turnover from interna- tional customers more than six times in three years.
“Anari has developed an innovative software solution that saves airlines considerable money in the cost of distributing their product through travel agencies. It has been installed in many far-flung places such as Australia, Russia, Bangladesh, Fiji and Kenya.
“The company has some of the world’s best airlines as customers including Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, Emirates and Aeroflot.”
He added: “It is a great honour to be recognised for this achievement.
“Our staff’s commitment, innovation and expertise has been faultless, and it’s enabled a small company in rural Cheshire to compete effectively against much larger competitors on a world stage.
“We have doubled our staff over the last three years and are looking forward to that growth continuing in the near future.”
Anari Ltd is one of just 249 businesses awarded a Queen’s Award this year.
Receiving the Queen’s Award means winners can also use the Queen’s Award emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for a period of five years as a symbol of their quality and success.
Andy Wolstenholme, chief solution architect and director, said: “The ability of our team to embrace new technology in delivering our airline solutions has been outstanding and I’m proud to be part of what we have achieved.
“The whole company will celebrate this award.”
Anari will have a triple celebration this year. Following on from the presentation of this award, company representatives will attend a reception at Buckingham Palace in July, and in October the business will celebrate its 10th anniversary with its highest ever annual turnover.
