For the ben­e­fit of the unini­ti­ated, a PPG is a Pa­tient Par­tic­i­pa­tion Group, and they are made up of peo­ple with an in­ter­est in how their GP prac­tice is run and want to make sure their views are taken into ac­count by GPs and prac­tice man­agers.

PPG meet­ings mainly fo­cus on any news or changes at in­di­vid­ual prac­tices but they’re also a great place to find out about the work of the CCG and how the de­ci­sions we make will im­pact on you.

While I ap­pre­ci­ate this may sound slightly dry to some, and even fewer of you rel­ish the thought of spend­ing an evening at your GP prac­tice when you’re not even ill, the CCG has a big im­pact on the lo­cal health econ­omy and our de­ci­sions af­fect ev­ery one of our 204,000 res­i­dents.
