Open day to celebrate new care village
VISITORS are invited to head to Hollins Park Care Home where an entire village has been built for its residents.
Care UK’s Hollins Park care home on Victoria Road will unveil its new outdoor residents’ village on Friday, June 17, from midday until 3pm.
At 1pm, the Mayor of Macclesfield, Coun Alift Harewood-Jones, will perform the ribbon cutting to officially open the new area of the garden at Hollins Park, which includes three summer houses converted into a pub, café and shop.
The new amenities have been introduced following a donation from the late Doris Marsden, a relative of a former resident, Alan Marsden.
Julie Okhae, home manager at Hollins Park, said the event, which includes live entertainment and a barbecue, coincides with Care Home Open Day.
She said: “Opening our doors also gives us a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Hollins Park has to offer.”
