COMMUNITY groups are being encouraged to bid for a share of a £10,000 cash pot.

Last year, dozens of applications were received by Contour Homes, with sums of up to £2,000 awarded to community groups under the ‘Cash for Communities’ scheme. The winning projects included a community gardens mural, shower facilities for a local community centre and furniture and books for a local library.

Now groups are being urged to bid for a fresh cash injection in 2016.

Andrew Lord, from the group, said: “We know there are lots of groups out there doing amazing work and making a real difference.”

Groups can apply for sums of between £500 and £2,000 by emailing their idea to community investment team@ con
