SCHOOLGIRL Chloe Rowe has won £500 for her school.

Eleven-year-old Chloe, who goes to Ash Grove Academy on Belgrave Road, was awarded the cash after winning a competition to design a new bag for Tesco Metro as part of the Barnaby Festival.

She dreamt up the eyecatching design based around the festival’s Space theme and with the message ‘Let’s go to Tesco’ to scoop the top prize.

As well as earning a prize for the school, she will see the design transferred onto 4,000 drawstring bags which will be given out during the festival.

Chloe has also bagged herself a £25 gift card for the store.

Noel Richardson, store manager, said “Chloe has done a great job with her bag design and I am delighted she’s won.

“I look forward to seeing the bag around Macclesfield in the coming weeks.

“Tesco is a big part of the local community and we’re really happy to be involved in the Barnaby Festival.”
