Macclesfield Express - - MACCLESFIELD PEOPLE -

OUR studios have been very busy these past two weeks.

We have had five students from Fallibroome Academy in for their work experience, where they have been learning all about what happens at a radio station, not only on air but also the tremendous work that is carried out behind the scenes by our fantastic volunteers that ensures the sound of the radio is good.

There is loads to do, such as the population of the website with everything that the presenters read on air such as the what’s on guide, local news and sport, and competitions. Editing of songs and jingles and much, much more are all tasks that need to be done. We now have a week’s break from the youngsters before we welcome students from King’s School, Macclesfield for their work experience.

The office and studios are also being spruced up ready for a re-launch of our website that we are planning to start on Friday, July 1. The site, www.canalsidethread. org.uk, will not only feature all of the contents of the current website www. thethread.org.uk but will also look different and will include some new features. Thanks to Simon Leah for all his hard work in creating the website.

We will also be updating our on air sound with new jingles, adverts and some new presenters. We hope you will like our changes but, as always, if there is something you don’t think is as good as it was please let us know by calling the office on 01625 576689 or send an email to office@ thethread.org.uk.
