Village crowns Rose Queen
POTT Shrigley welcomed its newest Rose Queen at its annual village event.
Around 200 people attended the event at St Christopher’s Church and Pott Shirgley Village Green.
Steve Murphy, who attended the event, said: “The wet weather didn’t dampen spirits for this years Pott Shrigley Rose Queen celebrations.”
A parade to the village green was led by chair of governors Richard Lofthouse with children from Pott Shrigley School, and Poppy Lloyd was crowned as the new Rose Queen. Eden Christensen is her Rose Bud. Ellis Mugridge was inaugurated as Rose King alongside his Rose Prince Andrei Naumkin.
