Vil­lage crowns Rose Queen

POTT Shrigley wel­comed its new­est Rose Queen at its an­nual vil­lage event.

Around 200 peo­ple at­tended the event at St Christo­pher’s Church and Pott Shir­g­ley Vil­lage Green.

Steve Mur­phy, who at­tended the event, said: “The wet weather didn’t dampen spir­its for this years Pott Shrigley Rose Queen cel­e­bra­tions.”

A pa­rade to the vil­lage green was led by chair of gov­er­nors Richard Loft­house with chil­dren from Pott Shrigley School, and Poppy Lloyd was crowned as the new Rose Queen. Eden Chris­tensen is her Rose Bud. El­lis Mu­gridge was in­au­gu­rated as Rose King along­side his Rose Prince An­drei Naumkin.
