Re­gan runs riot against Ash­ley

KER­RIDGE wel­comed Ash­ley to Clarke Lane on Satur­day and upon win­ning the toss elected to bat with their bats­men hav­ing been in good touch this sea­son.

This form con­tin­ued with open­ing duo Alan Har­bige and Ste Re­gan tak­ing the score to 70 be­fore Har­bige (28) nicked one be­hind to the keeper af­ter look­ing well set at the crease.

Josh Cap­per in at three con­tin­ued to up the runs for the home side along with Re­gan, who achieved full bat­ting points be­tween them af­ter just 15 overs to­gether at the crease.

The score reached 218 when Re­gan was even­tu­ally bowled by T Lloyd for a mag­nif­i­cent 125 – his first ton for the club and a per­fect way to cel­e­brate his birth­day. Thus ended a 148-run part­ner­ship.

Just one ball later and Cap­per, hav­ing been pinned in front, was dis­missed lbw just five runs short of a de­served 50. Ker­ridge then de­clared on 218/3

With 52 overs in the bank Ash­ley got off to a ter­ri­ble start, Nick Wind­sor (1/4) bowl­ing Bai­ley (3) in the first over with just four on the board.

An in­jury to Wind­sor saw Neil Banks (2/15) step in to re­place him who took a wicket first ball bowl­ing Kwas­nik (0) and bagged an­other early into his sec­ond over hav­ing Busby (1) caught be­hind leav­ing Ash­ley 5/3.

Adam Banks (3/2) had T Lloyd (0) and Brindle (0) caught be­fore bowl­ing Nutha­la­p­ati (0) see­ing the vis­i­tors re­duced to 26/6.

Re­gan (1/4)had J LLoyd caught at cover who top scored with 17 be­fore Sam Bar­row (2/11) ti­died up the tail with his first wick­ets for the club bowl­ing both Grif­fiths (1) and Bir­tles (10) to leave Ash­ley 43 all out in­side 32 overs, 25 points taken on the day and main­tain­ing an un­beaten cam­paign so far for Ker­ridge.
