Regan runs riot against Ashley
KERRIDGE welcomed Ashley to Clarke Lane on Saturday and upon winning the toss elected to bat with their batsmen having been in good touch this season.
This form continued with opening duo Alan Harbige and Ste Regan taking the score to 70 before Harbige (28) nicked one behind to the keeper after looking well set at the crease.
Josh Capper in at three continued to up the runs for the home side along with Regan, who achieved full batting points between them after just 15 overs together at the crease.
The score reached 218 when Regan was eventually bowled by T Lloyd for a magnificent 125 – his first ton for the club and a perfect way to celebrate his birthday. Thus ended a 148-run partnership.
Just one ball later and Capper, having been pinned in front, was dismissed lbw just five runs short of a deserved 50. Kerridge then declared on 218/3
With 52 overs in the bank Ashley got off to a terrible start, Nick Windsor (1/4) bowling Bailey (3) in the first over with just four on the board.
An injury to Windsor saw Neil Banks (2/15) step in to replace him who took a wicket first ball bowling Kwasnik (0) and bagged another early into his second over having Busby (1) caught behind leaving Ashley 5/3.
Adam Banks (3/2) had T Lloyd (0) and Brindle (0) caught before bowling Nuthalapati (0) seeing the visitors reduced to 26/6.
Regan (1/4)had J LLoyd caught at cover who top scored with 17 before Sam Barrow (2/11) tidied up the tail with his first wickets for the club bowling both Griffiths (1) and Birtles (10) to leave Ashley 43 all out inside 32 overs, 25 points taken on the day and maintaining an unbeaten campaign so far for Kerridge. Thanks to match sponsor on the day ,Mr & Mrs F Kirk.
Kerridge’s cup game versus Rylands in the 40/40 on Sunday was conceded by the away side, gifting Kerridge a semi final spot versus Audlem or Holmes Chapel in July.
