Ster­ling work by Shot­ton

MAC­CLES­FIELD Town chair­man Mark Blower has paid trib­ute to stu­dent Robert Shot­ton af­ter his year-long place­ment with the club came to an end.

Shot­ton be­gan work­ing at the Moss Rose in Septem­ber 2015, and has helped with events such as the sports­man’s din­ner, the an­nual golf day, whilst also sup­port­ing the com­mer­cial team.

He will now re­turn to the Univer­sity of the West of Eng­land to com­plete his stud­ies, and Blower is thank­ful to every­thing he has done.

“It is sad to see Rob leave be­cause he has been a val­ued mem­ber of the team over the last year, but of course we wish him well and thank him for all his hard work,” he said.

“I am sure he has a very bright fu­ture ahead of him and hope­fully he will look back at his time with Mac­cles­field Town fondly.

“A new stu­dent will soon be join­ing us on place­ment and will con­tinue the good work that Rob has started.

“Through his work with ju­nior foot­ball clubs and schools in the area, Rob has helped the club forge links with the com­mu­nity which is a vi­tal part of Mac­cles­field Town be­ing recog­nised as a prom­i­nent part of the com­mu­nity.”
