Motorcycle cavalcade honours top rider Paul
MORE than 100 riders formed a funeral procession for top motorcyclist Paul Shoesmith.
Dad-of-four Paul, 50, from Poynton, was killed during a TT Race practice session on June 4.
A procession of biker friends and fans followed the funeral procession from his home to Macclesfield Crematorium on June 22.
Friend and business partner James Whitham, 49, said the funeral was the ‘perfect send-off’.
He said: “I lost count of the number of bikes but there was over 100 as well as Ice Valley team lorries in the procession. It was impressive.
“The service heard from a few of us that knew him best. His children did him proud and spoke very well. We then had something like a party and told tales of our times with Paul. He would’ve approved. It was the perfect send-off.
“Shoey, as I knew him, was my friend for 25 years. He was funny, chirpy lad, who would find the fun in everything. He was great to be around and I will miss him.”
Supporters via www. gofundme.com/ PaulShoeyShoesmith have raised almost £5,500 for Paul’s family, including wife Janet Cowden and his four children.
