Cowan’s happy to commit to Macc
DAN Cowan is excited to progress his career after the youngster signed a new deal at Macclesfield Town.
The 20-year-old came through Macc’s youth team and broke into the Silkmen squad during the 2014/15 campaign, before going on to make 19 appearances for the team last season.
Cowan is now glad to be back at the Moss Rose for another year, and the defender plans on making it a successful 12 months.
“I’m very happy. Last season was a good season so hopefully we can progress over the next year. I’m delighted to sign a new deal so we can push on,” he told the club’s official website.
“We’ve got a good group of lads so hopefully we can do something this season – we were so close last season, I thought we had the momentum for it so hopefully with the signings that we’ve made so far we can push on.”
Cowan also revealed that manager John Askey has played a big part in his decision to stay at the club.
“John’s been a great manager for me so there was never any doubt in my mind about signing,” he said. “He’s helped me progress over the season so hopefully this season I can improve even more, and hopefully start more.”
