Tributes to teen crushed after falling under car Schoolboy died after trying to stop rolling vehicle
Tributes have been paid to a 13-year-old boy who was crushed by a car as he tried to stop it rolling away.
All Hallows Catholic College pupil Kaden Gowers died following the tragedy on Fowey Close, a quiet cul-de-sac off st Austell Avenue.
An inquest which was later opened at Warrington Coroners Court heard that Kaden and a friend had been in the car and that the handbrake had ‘inadvertently’ been taken off and it started rolling.
The pair got out and tried to stop it, but Kaden fell under it.
After his death, school principal tony billings said Kaden had joined the school in year nine. He said: “in a very short space of time he made many new friends both at All Hallows and across the town.
“We are all deeply saddened by news of the tragic accident which has taken Kaden from us.” A fundraising page set up to raise money for his funeral has exceeded its £2,000 target, raising more than £2,600 so far. ●●
