Man at­tacked for­mer friend

A MAN at­tacked a for­mer friend be­cause he be­lieved he’d had an af­fair with his wife, a court heard.

An­thony Par­due, 60, as­saulted Wil­liam Ka­yaruhanga out­side his work place. Par­due’s wife had re­turned home to the Philip­pines and been hos­pi­talised be­cause of stress. At Macclesfield mag­is­trates’ court, Par­due, of Ch­ester Road, Macclesfield, ad­mit­ted as­sault.

Deb­bie Byrne, pros­e­cut­ing said: “The de­fen­dant had been drink­ing. He waited out­side the com­plainant work and when he saw him said ‘he’s been hav­ing sex with my wife and put her in hospi­tal. I am go­ing to have him’. The de­fen­dant ran over wav­ing his arms about. Mr Ka­yaruhanga fell from his bike and started to run.”

An­thony Der­byshire, de­fend­ing Par­due said: “He was ex­tremely frus­trated. He had been told that the vic­tim had been in an adul­ter­ous re­la­tion­ship with his wife. She had re­turned to the Philip­pines suf­fer­ing with men­tal health prob­lems fol­low­ing the stress of the af­fair.”

Par­due will be sen­tenced next month.
