Shoppers can help pupils hit store’s £1,000 jackpot
SHOPPERS will raise money for schools through a scheme returning to the Grosvenor Centre.
Five schools will be in with the chance of winning £1,000 in the Shop for Schools initiative. For every £10 spent at participating stores, shoppers will be given tokens that are then used to vote for their school of choice in the voting box, located near Don Millers bakery.
The winnings can be spent on anything for the school, from gym equipment and computers to training courses and new books.
Last year’s winners, Puss Bank Primary School, spent their money on books for their library.
Ed Kennedy, Grosvenor Centre manager, said: “Shops for Schools is a really important part of the year for us as it enables us to give something back to the youngsters in the Macclesfield community. We’ve had a great response from schools in the area and we know that our shoppers will really get involved to help their favourite.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to raise the prize total from £400 to £1,000 and I’m sure that this year is going to prove more popular than ever.”
The scheme will run from Saturday, October 1 to Monday, October 31.
