Name: Nigella and Biscuit. Sex: Female. Breed: Fancy Rats. Age: Nigella – young adult. Biscuit - eightweeks-old. Colour: Grey-and-white. What type of home would be suitable?: Nigella was one of 60-70 rats dumped in cardboard boxes in Yorkshire. Nigella gave birth to eight babies whilst in our care - five boys and three girls, one of which is Biscuit. They need a home together and are quite happy. Nigella has really come around and loves food (hence the name Nigella). She also adores time out of her cage. Biscuit is much more playful and gives her mum a run for her money. They have a very special bond. They require a sizeable cage with narrow bars. Minimum size accommo- dation is H70 x D48 x W78cm, but the bigger the better. The flooring they walk on must be solid and there must be plenty of enrichment like climbing ropes/ladders and opportunities to forage for food, as well as time in the evenings out of their cage being handled.
