Charity joins forces on LGBT
AGE UK Cheshire East is showing its commitment towards its lesbian, gay, bi and transgender staff and service users.
The charity has joined forces with Age UK Cheshire and Age UK Wirral to join the Stonewall Diversity Champions Programme - which promotes equality.
The programme is a best practice sharing forum in which organisations receive support from Stonewall with their work towards equality, with the aim of creating a fully inclusive workplace for all staff and embedding inclusion in all areas of service delivery.
Age UK Cheshire East needs to ensure it reaches the diverse population in the area to make sure its services are relevant and to give evidence to funders that
it engages with a wide range of people to bring funding into the area to provide the right services for the local community.
Damon Taylor, chief executive of Age UK Cheshire East, said: “We are committed to supporting our LGBT staff and communities. We understand the importance of creating an inclusive workplace for all staff. We recognise the value that LGBT staff and service users can bring to the organisation and are taking active steps to make our policies, actions, values and services as inclusive as possible for LGBT staff and service users.”
