Brownies de­light in Best of Bri­tish

GIRLGUIDING mem­bers from all over Mac­cles­field took part in ac­tiv­i­ties to cel­e­brate the ‘Best of Bri­tish’ in a Last Night of the Proms in­spired event.

The ac­tiv­i­ties in­cluded a mor­ris danc­ing les­son from Wa­ters Green Mor­ris, cre­ative ac­tiv­i­ties such as mak­ing laven­der bags, dec­o­rat­ing tea pot bis­cuits, and fin­ished off

A DROP-IN play group for ba­bies is held ev­ery Thurs­day at the Bro­ken Cross Chil­dren’s Cen­tre.

The free group meets at the Par­kett Hayes Road cen­tre from 1.30pm un­til 3pm.

Katy Hal­latt, from the Mac­cles­field guides, said: “Girlguiding opens up a world of op­por­tu­ni­ties to girls and young women aged five to 25, of­fer­ing a hugely var­ied pro­gramme in­cor­po­rat­ing ev­ery­thing from world is­sues and science to so­cial ac­tion, ad­ven­ture sports and more in­for­ma­tion.

CHIL­DREN’S Scot­tish Coun­try Danc­ing classes are held in Langley ev­ery Satur­day morn­ing.

The classes run from 10am un­til 11.15am and cost £1.50 per ses­sion.

They take place on Main Road, Langley. For more in­for­ma­tion call in­ter­na­tional travel.
