Boot just the right fit for Silkmen
MACCLESFIELD Town have added to their squad after they signed Port Vale goalkeeper Ryan Boot on a short-term loan deal.
The 22-year-old has made the switch to the Moss Rose after Ritchie Branagan left Macc to join Ashton United on loan.
Boot has been part of match-day squads at Port Vale in the past, though he is yet to make his debut for the League One club.
He has also had two previous successful loan spells with National League North side Worcester City.
He made 10 appearances for Worcester team earlier this season, helping the team picking up five victories and keeping six clean sheets during that time.
Boot is set to be in the Macclesfield squads over the coming weeks, but is ineligible for the FA Cup second round clash with Oxford United after already playing for Worcester in the competition this season.
Meanwhile, Macclesfield have forfeited their place in the Cheshire County FA Senior Cup first round after admitting to field an ineligible player during their preliminary round tie earlier this month.
The Silkmen won the match 4-3 against Winsford United, but as a result of the forfeit, it is Winsford who will now progress to the first round.
