Tag ordered for homophobic abuse
A MAN has been given an electronic tag after using homophobic language during an assault.
Carl Jason Fenton, 33, spat on the woman during the verbal attack in Macclesfield on August 21.
At Crewe magistrates court, Fenton, of Knight Street, Macclesfield, admitted assault by beating on the basis that he spat on her.
He was given a electronically monitored curfew preventing him from leaving his home between 9pm and 7am for nine weeks.
He was also ordered to complete 15 days of Rehabilitation Activity.
Fenton was told to pay £50 compensation to his victim.
He was banned from entering the Rumba Bar, Pickfield Street, Macclesfield, for a year. Court documents revealed that magistrates increased the length of the curfew because he “used homophobic language”.
Fenton was also ordered to pay £165 legal costs.
