Starlets stage a hit show

Macclesfield Express - - SCHOOLS NEWS -

YOUNG performers from Macclesfield showcased their talent at a special live show.

The youngsters from the town’s branch of Stagecoach Performing Arts School sang, danced and acted their hearts out at Stagecoach Live in Stoke.

It was the culmination of a busy year for the students, who meet at Tytherington School.

In May, two students launched their film careers with key roles in ‘Ends Meat’, a short horror film directed by Helen Curran.

Then in the summer, West End star Will Breckin, who has per- formed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Dirty Dancing, came to the school to give workshops on ‘Joseph’.

Laura Cosgriff, principal at the school, said: “Stagecoach Performing Arts School Macclesfield has had such an exciting year so far. Students have just performed in Stagecoach Live at Stoke on Trent’s Victoria Hall. The performance was a hit with all and the students had an amazing time.”

Laura is helped by coaches Natalie Blades (early stages), Elizabeth Brown (dance), Nicola Crooks (singing) and Leah Goodhind (musical theatre).
