Macclesfield Express - - TRAVEL - MACC TOWN LADIES

MTLFC U13s resumed winning ways on a bright brisk day as they were pitted against Congleton Vale FC.

The teams looked evenly matched both in size and skill and the first 10 minutes proved end to end football with both Vale and MTLFC having good chances.

Both sides were thwarted by great saves from the keepers, but it was MTLFC who broke the deadlock with a goal coming from Olivia Delany after sustained pressure.

Vale responded and picked their game up with a great shot into the bottom left-hand corner, giving Macc Town goalie no chance.

The second half saw Macc Town wake up, the passing and movement by the players was sublime.

Susie Bridgett dominated the midfield, stroking the ball around at will with lovely through passes.

With this pressure Vale gave away a corner, and Leah Hanagan’s curling delivery found Lily Fallon who pounced on the ball to make the score 2-1 to Macc.

Other notable performances came from Willow Kidd who closed the right hand side down completely, goalkeeper Annabelle O’Neil and Leah Hanagan on the wing.

The U9s were in action playing Northwich Vickies and easily dispatched their opponents 5-1, another great performance from this ever improving team, well done to all.
