MAN STABBED

A MAN was stabbed in the chest in Poyn­ton.

Police were called to re­ports of an as­sault at 10pm on Mon­day, November 21.

Dur­ing the in­ci­dent the vic­tim, a 27-yearold man from Poyn­ton, suf­fered a minor punc­ture wound to his up­per chest. He went into Poyn­ton Work­ing Men’s Club to get help.

The as­sault is be­lieved to have hap­pened near the garage on Clum­ber Road.

Police are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion.

In­ves­ti­gat­ing of­fi­cer, De­tec­tive Sergeant An­gela Cop­pock, said: “As part of my in­ves­ti­ga­tion I’m keen to hear from any­one who was in the area at the time of the in­ci­dent and be­lieves they may have seen any­thing sus­pi­cious.”

BOOZE THIEF

A MAN has avoided jail af­ter break­ing into a pub and steal­ing £500 worth of booze.

Michael Batty, 52, of Stoneleigh Close, Mac­cles­field, ad­mit­ted bur­glary of the Cock in Trea­cle pub in Mac­cles­field on Au­gust 20.

He also ad­mit­ted theft of choco­late worth £30 from the Co-op on July 16 and theft of six rump steaks worth £35.55 from the Co-op on Au­gust 13.

He was given a six month prison sen­tence sus­pended for 12 months and a 16 week cur­few.

FES­TIVE FAIR

THE Life Church on Hawthorn Road, Bolling­ton, is host­ing a Christ­mas fair on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 10.

There will be stalls sell­ing gifts, jew­ellery, cakes, ce­ram­ics and crafts from 10am un­til 3pm.

On Sun­day, De­cem­ber 18, there will be a cel­e­bra­tion ser­vice at the church at 6pm, fol­lowed by a hog roast and mulled wine.
