Band on the up
A MACCLESFIELD indie band have launched their new single.
Cassia, which features trio Robert Ellis, Lou Cotterill and Jacob Leff, have been out on their first headline tour promoting ‘100 times over’.
The single was released on November 18 on Scruff of the Neck.
It is the third single from their debut EP.
The band describe themselves as playing a calypso pop/indie style. Comparison can be drawn to acts like Vampire Weekend and Little Comets.
They started playing together last year and have started to build up a following with gigs all over the north west, including a few venues in their home town.
In May, Cassia were chosen to play at the Lowry during the first night of the production of Tom the Musical, after a public vote.
Cassia have clocked up support slots with fellow up-and-coming acts, including Lisbon and Girl Friend, and did the UK festival circuit playing Brownstock, Folk On the Lawn, and Y-Not Festival.
Rob said: “It has been a great year so far and we’ve got some big things starting to happen.”
