Shop ready for Santa
CHRISTMAS is certainly on the way for an East Cheshire Hospice charity shop in Macclesfield.
Under the supervision of new manager, Kim Allison, the hospice shop on Thornton Square has huge helpings of Christmas joy.
And Kim, who’s been with the hospice shop for two months, has good reason to welcome in the Christmas cheer as early as possible.
As a former assistant manager at the Rising Sun pub on Congleton Road, Kim has worked every Christmas Day for more than a decade and is looking forward this year to a festive day at home with her family.
“We’ve all had great fun coming up with ideas for our window display – which is now complete with a real fireplace, Christmas stockings and lights and is certainly attracting some comments.
“And our party and glamour wear have just gone on display this week all in good time for the party season,” said Kim.
“We’re all very excited here at the shop. We’re even transforming one of our rooms into a fairy-tale grotto in preparation for the arrival of Santa this Saturday, December 3.”
Kim is no stranger to the world of charity shops, having worked for the British Heart Foundation as a shop manager in the town for several years prior to her years in catering. And she’s sure that the shop’s current selection of Christmas gifts, stocking fillers and even trees will all sell out quickly.
Santa will be at the Thornton Square shop between noon and 3pm this Saturday, with visitors being asked for a minimum £2 donation.
