Alice hopes for more after Corrie debut
A TALENTED Macclesfield actress has set her sights on the cobbles of Coronation Street after making her Weatherfield debut.
Alice Barlow, 25, from Henbury, has sparked rumours of a permanent role on one of Britain’s best loved soaps after she was spotted playing flirty waitress ‘Nancy’ in Friday night’s episode.
Former Fallibroome Academy student Alice is no stranger to television, playing troubled Rae in Hollyoaks and showcasing her singing talents on BBC’s The Voice, but is keeping tight lipped about her future on the cobbles.
Her mum, Sally, said Alice’s appearance in Friday’s episode has received a fantastic response, with many watchers taking to Twitter after spotting the Hollyoaks actress working in the soap’s Bistro.
She said: “I knew she was going to be on Coronation Street so I watched it and told my friends, but I didn’t expect it to be all over the papers the next day.
“There’s been a fantastic response, we are thrilled.”
Alice, who lives with mum Sally in Macclesfield, has also enjoyed roles in ITV’s Crime Stories, Drifters, Casualty and Benidorm, and has also performed for the troops in Afghanistan, which she is hoping to do again.
