HOLIDAY LODGE

PLANS have been revealed for a new holiday retreat in a rural idyll.

Rotunda Roundhouses Limited has submitted plans to build 12 ‘rotunda lodges’ on land off Coppice Road, Poynton.

The scheme also includes a reception building and waterside shelter.

The lodges will be made of timber with a green roof.

The plans are with Cheshire East Council for a decision but have already been met with some local objection.

WOOD STATUE

A COUNTRYSIDE ranger has created a life-sized wood carving for the Middlewood Way.

Ed Pilkington used his chainsaw to carve the statue of a woman ‘passenger’ from a felled poplar.

It is now at the former site of Higher Poynton railway station on the scenic route.
