ALL Hallows Catholic College has been recognised for its outstanding music department.

The school has been awarded the Incorporated Society of Musicians’ Bronze certificate in GCSE music, which recognises that more than 10pc of all its GCSE students achieved and A*-C in music last year.

Vicci Elliott, head of music, said: “We are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment of our music staff and students at All Hallows.

“We have had a really successful year with GCSE music, with the most successful results to date. An excellent example that hard work really does pay off.”

Tony Billings, executive principal at the school, said: “We are extremely proud of our music provision in college both as an academic subject and in our extracurricular offer, which both help to develop the whole person and provide an amazing array of opportunities.

“We treasure the performing arts at All Hallows Catholic College and enjoy seeing the provision grow and develop year on year. A fantastic achievement, well done to our students and all the staff team who support and encourage in so many ways.”
