MBBC duo impress at L&S show

Macclesfield Express - - TRAVEL -

HAVING boxed on Friday in front of a sell-out crowd on the MBBC home show, the boxers from Macclesfield were out again on Sunday, this time as a favour to help out Larches and Savick ABC from Preston.

First up was Lucas Earles in a skills bout against local boxer Taylor Winters from Larches and Savick.

It was clear from the off that Earles was a level above Winters as he picked him off at will used the ring and putting on a great display.

Winters pushed forward, throwing haymakers that Earles just managed to avoid.

As it was just a skills contest, the referee made Earles pull back a bit and cover up to practice defence more, which the MBBC fighter did, throwing a little reminder as Winters took advantage, but it was a brilliant first bout of the day and a nice work out for Earles.

Next up was Joe Straw, again boxing a local lad as he took on Sam Eastwood, again from Larches and Savick.

There was plenty of support for Eastwood and to be honest he needed it as he was schooled in the fight by Straw.

Eastwood was trying to throw flurries of shots but Straw returned the counters just as fast and it was clear this would be a learning curb for Eastwood.

As the bout continued, Eastwood tired, allowing Straw to land more cleanly.

The judges had no choice but to award Straw the unanimous decision, earning him a hard-fought victory.
