Jennings back as trio arrive to boost push
MACCLESFIELD Town have been busy over the last few days after making three new additions to the squad.
Luke Summerfield and Conor Jennings have joined on loan, while Andy Haworth has signed on a permanent basis until the end of the season.
Midfielder Summerfield arrives from Grimsby Town for the rest of the campaign, with the option of a permanent deal in the summer if Macc are able to gain promotion from the National League.
The 29-year-old has also played for the likes of Bournemouth, Shrewsbury, Plymouth, Leyton Orient, Cheltenham and York in his career, making nearly 300 appearances during his career.
Jennings heads to the Moss Rose on a onemonth loan from Tranmere, having previously spent time at Macc back in the opening months of the 2013/14 season.
He incredibly scored 17 goals in 17 starts for the Silkmen during that period, and will now hope to replicate that form. The 25-year-old has also been at Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Wrexham.
Joining Macclesfield permanently is Haworth, after the 28-year-old had his contract at Barrow mutually terminated.
Haworth came through the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers, and went on to play for a number of clubs, including Bradford, Rochdale, Bury, Falkirk, Oxford, Notts County, Tamworth and Cheltenham Town.
He was most recently at Barrow, making 15 league appearances for them so far this season. Haworth has now left Barrow and has the chance to start fresh at the Moss Rose.
The trio of players could all make their debut for Macclesfield against Torquay this weekend.
