A COLOUR­FUL band bring their fab­u­lous sounds to town for a free gig.

Four piece folk grunge band ‘The Blue Yel­lows’ bring their unique take on indie mu­sic to The Swan With Two Necks on Fri­day, March 3.

The band have a mu­si­cal stile with in­flu­ences of rock, folk, grunge and world mu­sic, and hail from across Cheshire and Stafford­shire,

They have been per­form­ing at fes­ti­vals and mu­sic venues, as well as the BBC as part of the BBC In­tro­duc­ing team.

Jonathan Tarplee, lead singer, said: “We’ve had quite a break af­ter Emma, our key­board player has had her lovely lit­tle baby, Heidi. Now we’re all rar­ing to go again. This will be our first time play­ing in Mac­cles­field and we’re re­ally ex­cited to be play­ing two full sets at such a cool venue.”

THE Mar­tyn Don­ald­son Mu­sic Trust is or­gan­is­ing a quiz night on Satur­day, March 4. The event will be held at Bolling­ton Arts Cen­tre at 8pm.

There can be any num­ber of peo­ple up to a max­i­mum of six in a team, with a £50 cash prize to the win­ning team and other prizes on the night.

There is also a li­censed bar.

Ad­mis­sion is by ticket only. Tick­ets cost £2.50 from 01625 433187. The Mar­tyn Don­ald­son Mu­sic Trust is a Mac­cles­field char­ity set up to sup­port the gen­eral ed­u­ca­tion of dis­ad­van­taged young peo­ple in Africa.

THE chil­dren of Pott Shrigley will be shar­ing their tal­ents with an au­di­ence on Fri­day (February 17). The Pott’s Got Tal­ent show will be­gin at 2pm and ev­ery­one is in­vited to at­tend. Tea and cof­fee will be avail­able af­ter the show at Pott Shrigley CE Pri­mary.
