Cam­eras roll for next film fes­ti­val

EN­TRIES are be­ing in­vited for the 2017 SilkFest In­de­pen­dent Film Fes­ti­val.

The com­pe­ti­tion aims to gives ac­tors, writ­ers and di­rec­tors the op­por­tu­nity to show­case their tal­ent.

The six best short films will all be screened at a spe­cial event at St Michael’s Church on Satur­day Au­gust 12. The over­all win­ner will be de­cided on the night. Prizes in­clude cash and equip­ment.

To take part in SilkFest all you have to do is cre­ate an orig­i­nal seven-minute film in­spired by the theme of ‘union’.

The dead­line for en­tries is Au­gust 1 with the fi­nal­ists an­nounced on Au­gust 5.

Laura Gen­ders from SilkFest said: “We en­joyed a great 2016 com­pe­ti­tion and have taken on board feed­back and sug­ges­tions that we have re­ceived and, with these changes, this year’s com­pe­ti­tion will be even bet­ter.”

“This year we have a fo­rum on the web­site. This gives the film mak­ing com­mu­nity the op­por­tu­nity to get in touch with one an­other. So if you are a writer seek­ing a cam­era crew or a sound tech­ni­cian look­ing for an edi­tor, this is the place to lo­cate the miss­ing piece to your cre­ative puz­zle.”
