ENTRIES are being invited for the 2017 SilkFest Independent Film Festival.
The competition aims to gives actors, writers and directors the opportunity to showcase their talent.
The six best short films will all be screened at a special event at St Michael’s Church on Saturday August 12. The overall winner will be decided on the night. Prizes include cash and equipment.
To take part in SilkFest all you have to do is create an original seven-minute film inspired by the theme of ‘union’.
The deadline for entries is August 1 with the finalists announced on August 5.
Laura Genders from SilkFest said: “We enjoyed a great 2016 competition and have taken on board feedback and suggestions that we have received and, with these changes, this year’s competition will be even better.”
“This year we have a forum on the website. This gives the film making community the opportunity to get in touch with one another. So if you are a writer seeking a camera crew or a sound technician looking for an editor, this is the place to locate the missing piece to your creative puzzle.”
