Char­ity gets £500 help

IT FIRM Axon has raised more than £500 for a Mac­cles­field char­ity for kids with autism.

Staff at Axon, who cho­sen Space4Autism as their 2016 cho­sen char­ity, held a num­ber of fundraising events over the past year to sup­port the char­ity, in­clud­ing bake sales, 100 mile bike rides and swimath­ons.

The money will help the char­ity to run ac­tiv­i­ties such as play­groups, youth and sup­port groups and events like movie nights, skat­ing and foot­ball.

Ch­eryl Simp­son, chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer for Space4Autism, said: “I would like to thank Axon for choos­ing Space4Austism as its char­ity of the year. Not only has the team raised much needed funds to­wards the valu­able work that we do across the com­mu­nity, but it has also helped raise aware­ness of Space4Autism around the town.”

Axon’s man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Tim Mears said: “We’re proud to have been able to sup­port such a fan­tas­tic lo­cal char­ity. We’re de­lighted that the money we’ve raised will go to­wards help­ing to change the lives of chil­dren and adults living with Autism in Mac­cles­field and en­able the char­ity to carry on with their amaz­ing work.”
