Bright fu­ture for new head of win­dow firm

A MACCLESFIELDBASED doors and win­dows man­u­fac­turer has ap­pointed a new manag­ing direc­tor.

Kat, based on Queen’s Av­enue, Hurds­field, has pro­moted Chris Pow­ell from com­mer­cial direc­tor to the top job.

Chris, who joined the com­pany in 2014, has im­ple­mented and over­seen strate­gies for sales and mar­ket­ing, prod­uct devel­op­ment and spe­cial projects.

Chris said the firm an­tic­i­pates con­tin­ued mar­ket growth, which in turn will bring new pro­duc­tion and ad­min­is­tra­tion op­por­tu­ni­ties in Mac­cles­field.

He said: “The busi­ness is in a lead­ing po­si­tion al­ready with plans afoot to ex­pand our of­fer­ing to our ex­ist­ing UK and Ire­land cus­tomers.

“I’m de­lighted to be at the helm of the com­pany at such a piv­otal stage in its growth and look for­ward to an­nounc­ing pos­i­tive news in 2017.”

KAT has more than 90 em­ploy­ees and 15 de­sign part­ners across the UK and Ire­land.

Ear­lier this year KAT ac­quired Ayr­shire Shopfronts which is based in Kil­marnock. It now trades as Ayr­shire Alu­minium.

It now means KAT has three man­u­fac­tur­ing op­er­a­tions in Mac­cles­field and Sussex.
