Sleepy brownies have a ball on trip to the tower

Macclesfield Express - - HEART OF THE COMMUNITY -

BROWNIES from Macclesfield and Bollington swapped sequins for slippers when they enjoyed a sleep over in the world famous Tower Ballroom.

The Brownies headed to Blackpool to take part in the Strictly Ballroom themed sleepover with 500 girls from across Cheshire.

They also enjoyed a trip to Madame Tussaud’s to see the Queen, checked out the stingrays at the Sea Life Centre, explored Jungle Jim’s and dared each other to stand on the glass platform at the top of the Tower Experience.

After a jam-packed day the Brownies headed to the ballroom for a Strictly Come Dancing extravaganza. Organiser Debbie Tomlinson, said: “I have been a member of Girlguiding for over 30 years and it has always offered girls something a little bit different. When I took on the role of County Brownie Advisor I wanted to organise an event which would give the brownies an adventure and experience they would always remember. We certainly did that. How many people can say they have spent the night in the Tower Ballroom?”
