Tyke Callum in to provide cover
MACCLESFIELD Town have made another new signing after bringing in Barnsley defender Callum Evans.
The 21-year-old has joined on a deal that will keep him at the Moss Rose until the end of the season.
Evans has made two appearances for Barnsley during the current campaign, starting in one match and coming off the bench in the other.
He came through the youth ranks at Manchester United before going on to sign for Barnsley back in the summer of 2015.
Evans is set to provide cover for the Silkmen in defence after captain Andy Halls picked up a hamstring injury during last week’s 1-0 defeat at home to Barrow.
The youngster may play alongside George Pilkington, who also featured in the match against Barrow.
Pilkington was disappointed to lose that game, but believes the result doesn’t reflect his team’s performance.
“There were lots of positives to take from the game on Wednesday but we were disappointed with the result,” he said.
“We just need to take our chances. There has not been many teams that have turned us over this season and we are normally well in the game, we just need to make the most of the chances we create.”
