New venture for pie shop
A MACCLESFIELD pie shop is expanding. Bosses at Lord of the Pies, based on Chestergate, have set their sights on Chorlton in Manchester for their next cafe.
Oliver Doyle, who founded the first shop in Stockport in 2011 before launching a second site in Macclesfield, has applied for a licence to open a third at 559a Barlow Moor Road in the south Manchester suburb.
The business has picked up a string of prizes at the British Pie Awards over the years for bakes including its locallyreared roast beef, mushroom and real ale and pulled chicken balti pies. Pies on the current menu also include confit pork and Bury black pudding, and slow braised Cheshire lamb with red wine jus, along with vegetarian options such as sweet potato, spinach and goat’s cheese.
