Pals take on triathlon challenge for charity
BEST pals Emma Hudson and Grace Parsons have raised almost £500 for charity by completing a challenging minitriathlon.
The friends, who are both in Year Six at Dean Valley Primary School in Bollington, challenged themselves to complete a triathlon to raise money for the NSPCC and Macmillan Cancer Support. And after a swimming a gruelling 50 lengths at Bollington Leisure Centre, running 3k around Bollington Recreation Ground and cycling 13.3k along the Middlewood Way, the girls are thrilled to hand over £492 to their chosen charities.
Emma and Grace said: “We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us. A special thanks to our teacher (Mrs McDermott) for all the support. We have raised £492.50 And are very grateful to anyone who sponsored us. We will continue to run, cycle and swim our way to victory.”
Money was collected thanks to kind sponsorship from classmates, teachers, friends and family.
The girls would also like to thank staff at Bollington Leisure Centre who provided them with a special lane at the pool to complete their swim.
