Pals take on triathlon chal­lenge for char­ity

BEST pals Emma Hud­son and Grace Par­sons have raised al­most £500 for char­ity by com­plet­ing a chal­leng­ing mini­triathlon.

The friends, who are both in Year Six at Dean Val­ley Pri­mary School in Bollington, chal­lenged them­selves to com­plete a triathlon to raise money for the NSPCC and Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port. And af­ter a swim­ming a gru­elling 50 lengths at Bollington Leisure Cen­tre, run­ning 3k around Bollington Recre­ation Ground and cy­cling 13.3k along the Mid­dle­wood Way, the girls are thrilled to hand over £492 to their cho­sen char­i­ties.

Emma and Grace said: “We would like to thank ev­ery­one who spon­sored us. A spe­cial thanks to our teacher (Mrs McDer­mott) for all the sup­port. We have raised £492.50 And are very grate­ful to any­one who spon­sored us. We will con­tinue to run, cy­cle and swim our way to vic­tory.”

Money was col­lected thanks to kind spon­sor­ship from class­mates, teach­ers, friends and fam­ily.

The girls would also like to thank staff at Bollington Leisure Cen­tre who pro­vided them with a spe­cial lane at the pool to com­plete their swim.
