Pensioners in fine voice for challenge
FUN-LOVING pensioners took centre stage during a visit Macclesfield Town FC.
The residents of Prestbury House Care Home were invited onto the pitch before the club’s home game against Dulwich Hamlet where they belted out a rendition of The Carpenters’ ‘Sing’.
The performance was part of the Napa’s Sing A Song Challenge in aid of Comic Relief and was captured on video.
Prestbury House is now hoping the performance will win a competition called ‘Carry On Singing’ which challenges care homes to sing in their community. First prize is £1,000 cash.
The group is also planning to take part in a national sing-a-long at 3pm on Friday, March 24.Michelle Walton, leisure and wellness co-ordinator, said: “All the support off the staff and residents was overwhelming.
