Bloors make it a fam­ily af­fair at Styal

IT was a fam­ily af­fair in a nine-hole Wed­nes­day Stable­ford at Styal with for­mer cap­tain Ivan Bloor show­ing his en­dur­ing class as he led in with 23 points from Tom Bloor and David Gra­ham Jones, both 20.

The Bloors struck again in a Team Texas Scram­ble part­ner­ing C Hart and K Musa to a win­ning score of 54.2 to take them home from J Ged­dis, J Lowe, H Dick­son and J Cos­grove 55.4 and M Win­dow, A Jowle, A Jones and B Weems 56.9.

A Sun­day ‘Open to All’ Stable­ford at Styal was a close af­fair with An­thony Guy win­ning a cpo on 39 points from Mike Burchell with Rob Cressey hot on their heels with 38. A sin­gles Stable­ford for Styal ladies was won by Diana Prow with 29 points from Sue Grange 26 and Joan Chap­man 25.

A Thurs­day Stable­ford at Shrigley Hall needed a cpo on 38 points to see Peter Car­tledge into top spo from Rod­er­ick Scott. Four points be­hind were Charles Green, Ray Had­dock and Peter Trus­sell.

The March medal at Wilm­slow pro­duced some good scores led in by Si­mon Weaver with 65 from Michael Caine and Alan Mar­cus, both 66 and Jack Dun­lop 67.

The pro’s 9-hole Stable­ford at Alder­ley Edge saw the di­vi­sions won by Dave Snell with 20 points and a best-of-the-day 22 points in divi­sion two from Michael Eas­ton.
