Victory will be sole aim at the final
MACCLESFIELD Town midfielder Ollie Norburn was delighted to get the all-important goal that booked his side a place in the FA Trophy final at Wembley.
Norburn’s second half strike helped the Silkmen defeat Tranmere Rovers 2-1 on aggregate, and he is now targeting a win in the final.
“We’re over the moon, it’ll be a good day out for the fans and everyone associated with the club but for us we’re going there to win,” he told the club’s official website.
“I thought I should have done better against Tranmere but I plugged away and thankfully I managed to get the goal.
“I went over on my ankle so to be honest I didn’t actually see it go in! I was on the floor in pain but I was buzzing that it did go in and that it has sent us to Wembley so hopefully we’ll come back with the trophy.”
Before Macclesfield turn their attention to the FA Trophy final, the team have a busy league schedule to focus on over the coming weeks.
It began as the Express went to print on Tuesday, when Macclesfield were set to travel to the Deva Stadium to take on Chester.
