FOUND DEAD

A THIRTY-THREE year old man was found dead on a foot­path.

Po­lice were called at around 3.50pm on Satur­day, April 29, to re­ports of a sudden death on a foot­path be­tween High Street and Cross Street, Mac­cles­field.

A 33 year-old-man was sadly pro­nounced dead at the scene.

A po­lice spokesman said there are not be­lieved to be any sus­pi­cious cir­cum­stances. A file is be­ing pre­pared for the coro­ner.

GANG RAID

AN IN­VES­TI­GA­TION into ag­gra­vated bur­glary is un­der­way af­ter a gang of men forced their way into a house.

Po­lice at­tended a home on Hurds­field Green, Mac­cles­field on Satur­day (April 29) at around 10pm af­ter a num­ber of men are be­lieved to have forced their way into the prop­erty. TRAV­ELLERS

TRAV­ELLERS set up camp on a town cen­tre car park.

The group of car­a­vans moved on to the car park on Dukes Street, Mac­cles­field on Wed­nes­day (April 26). Coun­cil of­fi­cers is­sued a no­tice for them to leave by 3pm on Fri­day, April 28, warn­ing that if they failed to com­ply then the coun­cil would con­sider le­gal ac­tion.

A Cheshire East coun­cil spokesman said the trav­ellers have now moved on from the site.
