Video games big names show­case their tal­ent

BIG hit­ters in the video games de­sign in­dus­try are com­ing to Mac­cles­field to share their sto­ries and ex­per­tise.

Arthur Par­son, who is head of de­sign at TT Games, re­spon­si­ble for the range of Lego games, will join Mac­cles­field games ex­pert Jeff Cogh­lan, of Matmi, and a host of other pro­fes­sion­als to speak at the first Weave ‘Town Talk’ event, or­gan­ised by Cheshire East Coun­cil.

The Weave net­work has been set up to pro­mote the dig­i­tal and cre­ative sec­tor across Cheshire East.

Denise Proc­tor, chair of Weave, said: “Cheshire East has a proven track record of de­vel­op­ing suc­cess­ful games, in­clud­ing An­gry Birds, Squadron 42 and Golf Clash.

“This event will pro­vide a show­case for the fan­tas­tic work and ex­per­tise on our doorstep and help to at­tract more tal­ent to the bor­ough.”

‘Vir­tual Play’ takes place at Mac­cles­field Town Hall from 6.30pm to­mor­row, Thurs­day, May 4. It will also fea­ture Play­demic, founder of in­die games com­pany Merge Luke Keighran, and co-cre­ative di­rec­tor of Cherry Pop VR games Gemma Jes­sop.
