AN initiative to boost entrepreneurship in the town has celebrated a milestone.
Enterprising Macclesfield launched in November 2015 to offer a one-stop-shop for free advice and support to anyone wanting to set up their own social or commercial enterprise.
The project has celebrated its 100th application for support from its panel of 14 volunteer coaches and 15 local advisory partners.
Since it launched, the team has supported businesses in a wide range of industries such as leisure, education, retail, property and finance, donating the equivalent of 200 days worth of help.
Celebrating the milestone Tim Shercliff, chairman of Enterprising Macclesfield, said: “We have successfully proven that there is demand for enterprise support in the local area. But more importantly, we have proven our model works, as we can start to see the impact for the businesses we have supported in the last year.”
Enterprising Macclesfield now plans to expand the range of services by hosting monthly meetings for past and present clients. They also aim to grow the local advisory network.
