Grant applications now open
APPLICATIONS are now open to a community support scheme which gives charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations across Cheshire East the chance to win grants of £500.
Equilibrium Asset Management has run the scheme since 2015 and awarded £9,300 in funds to community groups to date.
The scheme serves to support organisations in the community which help disadvantaged people, promote sport and the arts, support education and development and benefit the environment in Knutsford, Wilmslow and Macclesfield.
Colin Lawson, Founder and Partner of Equilibrium Asset Management, which is based in Wilmslow, said: “Ever since introducing the Community Support Scheme in 2015, we have taken great pride in being able to support the incredible work done by so many different organisations in Cheshire East.
“The reason we chose to support organisations embedded in their own communities is because we are passionate about helping them in any way we can.
“We are in a position, fortunately, to run a Community Support Scheme that offers funding which many organisations need to continue the excellent work that they do.”
He added: “We have a number of different grants available in what is the second round of the 2017 scheme. We hope that plenty of applications will be submitted, and organisations that subsequently win funding will be able to use it for the benefit of the communities they serve.”
Applications to the second round of this year’s scheme can be submitted up until June 25.
The community support scheme is one of a number of initiatives the financial planning expert runs as part of its charitable foundation, which aims to raise £250,000 for local charities by 2020.
Winners in round one of the 2017 community support scheme, which ran between January and April, included The Oakmere Singers Association based in Handforth.
