Coun­try­file’s Adam is a hit at care home

A TV farm­ing ex­pert shared sto­ries of his coun­try­side life dur­ing a visit to a care home.

Adam Hen­son, who is a pre­sen­ter on Coun­try­file, met with res­i­dents and guests at Prest­bury House Care Home, Mac­cles­field.

He was in­vited to Prest­bury House to dis­cuss how he had tran­si­tioned from a life on the land to one in the me­dia and his ef­forts to con­serve rare breeds of farm an­i­mals as co-owner of Cotswold Farm Park, a legacy left to him by his fa­ther who was also a farmer.

Adam gave res­i­dents and guests a glimpse into his life as he shared his sto­ries and anec­dotes on be­ing a part of the hugely pop­u­lar Sun­day evening show which is of­ten filmed from the farm park.

He also stayed to sign books for the res­i­dents and guests, who were thrilled to hear about his ven­tures.

Michelle Wal­ton, leisure and well­ness co-or­di­na­tor at the home, said: “One of our res­i­dents, Muriel, has been a big fan of Adam’s for a long time and was very ex­cited when she heard he was vis­it­ing the home.

“When I asked Adam if he could have a pic­ture taken with Muriel, she was com­pletely overwhelmed with joy – he’s made her a very happy lady.”
