THE King’s Infant and Junior Division netball squad have won the Macclesfield and District Primary Schools’ League winning every match in the prestigious six games series.

The mini hot shots showed some steely determination especially in a titanic match against Marlborough one of the highlights of a competitive season.

The team was built around Captain Fantastic and centre midfield playmaker Leah Shadwell, who organised the team superbly. Goal shooters, the clinical Madi Baxter and versatile Phoebe Thompson provided the majority of the goals with superb support from long range specialist Sophie Fletcher. Wing midfield Georgie Sanders provided the tactical wisdom, with the defence built around uncompromising goal keeper Sophie Johnson and the rock Lydia Hine and the resolute Sofia Ogden.

King’s Infant and Junior Division Netball coach Nicola Squares said: “The girls work hard and have great camaraderie.” Her fellow coach Alison Moores added: “The girls always play to win and had their sights set on the title from the very first game.”
