LOSING FA Trophy finalist Kingsley James says that Macclesfield Town need to find different ways to win football games.

After levelling the game at 2-2 before half time, the Silkman dominated the second half, with James himself seeing a chance cleared off the line by former Macc’ man Hamza Bencherif.

But they couldn’t find the killer blow as the clinical and direct York scored the decisive goal thorough Aidan Connolly.

And although Macclesfield want to play an attractive style of football, as they did at Wembley, James admits that his side need to prioritise winning over entertaining.

“We’ve just got to do what we’ve been doing throughout the season. We’ve just got to learn how to grind those results out and find a way to win these games where we seem to struggle.

“We’ve got a team of winners and everybody is disappointed in there.

“Next season we do just need to learn to grind these results out.

“We seem to struggle with teams that have got a big physical presence and do play direct. We do struggle against those teams and we need to work out how to win those games.” Not coming away with the result after dominating games has been a theme which has plagued Macclesfield’s season.

And James admits that they might’ve been making another trip to Wembley in the play-offs this season had they have been more clinical – but
