Pizza chain to move in

-

PLANS have been submitted for a new franchise of the popular pizza chain Papa John’s.

The business, which was founded more than 30 years ago in America, is looking to convert part of the former NatWest Bank site at Park Green, Macclesfield.

The scheme is to provide a takeaway and delivery service from 10am to 11pm seven days a week. The franchise will create 20 new jobs.

The application will see the convention of a unit on the ground floor of Silk House.

Internal alterations include a front of house customer reception area and sales counter, a kitchen containing oven, freezer, preparation and dispatch area, cold storage, dry storage and a wash up area.

There will be no customer parking.

In planning documents the agent said the proposed development would bring a vacant site back into ‘active economic use’.

Papa John’s is one of the largest pizza groups in the world with 4,800 outlets in more than 40 countries including 300 stores in the UK.

The scheme is now with Cheshire East Council and could be decided by the end of June.
