Adult comedy is latest from Players thespians

AMATEUR dramatics society the Chelford Players are preparing to take the stage for their next production.

Members will perform adult comedy Ladies Day by Amanda Whittingto­n, which follows four friends’ day out at Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot the year it moved to York.

Chrissy Stannard, Grace Fletcher, Nick Munday, Lisa Bessant and Bev Ibbotson from the group will perform in the show.

There will be a weekend of performanc­es at Chelford Village Hall.

George Marcall, from the group, said: “It will be good fun and we hope people will come along to support the show.”

Chelford Players is a small group based at the Village Hall in Chelford which has been performing plays for nearly 50 years.

Members put on at least two performanc­es a year, usually a pantomime and a play.

The group is always on the lookout for new members of all ages, acting or backstage, front of house, as well as scenery, wardrobe, lighting and sound.

Ladies Day by Amanda Whittingto­n is at Chelford Village Hall on June 8, 9 and 10, at 7.30pm.
