Struggle against Kingsley
weather did not look promising. Prestbury lost the toss and where put into bat. They soon raced to 51-1 off only 5 overs with a rapid 29 from Max Jones.
He was supported by Akbar Vohra who also showed some great application in difficult conditions to score 43 and Prestbury ended on 124 all out. The rain came to show its face at tea but passed by the time Prestbury were ready to take the field. Abhirup Biswa opened the bowling with fantastic line and length and was unplayable. He continued with this line and bowled his full 14 straight through, finishing with figures of 14 overs for 9 runs, taking 7 wickets. A man of the match performance.
He was backed up with some aggressive bowling from captain Kieran Robinson who somehow only picked up 1 wicket with figures of 9-26-1.
Lishanth Kanthasany took two wickets; one a fine direct hit run out from extra cover. He then removed the final wicket turning the ball away from the left-hander straight into Jack Cookson’s gloves who also had a much improved performance holding on to three catches.
Next up for Prestbury cc 2XI is Aston cc at home.
Can they make it three in a row ?
